From the Hoya: Student Activities Chair Sophia Behnia (COL ’09) proposed eliminating the GUSA’s involvement in SAC last night in an amended version of SAC’s constitution, potentially ending the 17-year relationship between the groups.
This blog is intended to create a campus-wide dialogue about the necessity to reform the Student Activities Commission. It will be a source of news, information and opinions. We welcome your input and participation, with the hope to facilitate a mature dialogue about this important arm of the Student Association that affects each and every one of us.

Attend a meeting:
GUSA Senate meets every Wednesday at 9:30 pm in Healy 104. Demand your elected representatives take action to reform SAC.
The Student Activities Commission meets every Monday at 8:00 pm in Leavy. Tell the commissioners that you demand reform in the way they allocate YOUR money to YOUR clubs.
GUSA Constitution
Relevant parts of the Student Association's Constitution:
Sec. 7: The Senate shall have full power to...finance and administer a central student activities fund...to enter into agreements that promote the fulfillment of the provisions of this Constitution, to establish all councils, commissions, boards, and agencies of the Student Association;
Sec. 8: The Senate shall have the plenary power to appropriate all Student Association funds, including the aggregate funds from the Student Activities Fee, among the agencies, funding boards, organizations and initiatives it deems fit...
